Pizzeria Damiano’s

Italian restaurant

Damiano’s was recommended to us by our friends that live on Malta. Big advantage was the restaurant’s location – it was very close to our apartment. The large menu offered all the Italian classics – from starters, through pasta, to all kinds of pizza.

Our friends warned us that portion sizes of pasta are very generous so we decided to share a starter and a pizza. We bet on mussels in a creamy garlicky sauce and very Italian, simple pizza Campana.

As for drinks Przemek ordered maltese beer – very tasty and smooth, for me there is only one choice – white house wine (lovely as well).

We were very excited for our starter. After some time spent in Greece, we fell in love with mussels. Unfortunately, those in Damiano’s were far from delicious.Although the sauce was nicely seasoned and honestly tasty, mussels meat was hard. They could have kept them on the stove for far too long all in the worst scenario they have not been fresh.

After that our second dish arrived. Pizza looked really good. The dough was thin and not fully covered with the mozzarella. It was ok, but to our taste, the sauce was sour and not seasoned enough. We ate it without a major problem, but we would not recommend it.

After tasting those dishes we did not feel like a dessert. To be perfectly honest we would not come back to Damiano’s though pasta ordered by our friends smelled divine.

We would not come back to Damiano’s. Bugibba is full of other fine restaurants worth visiting.
